One Week Ashtanga Mysore Intensive
August 11th- 16th, 6am-9am
This week long course is designed to give students the full experience of a regular Mysore practice. The term “Mysore” refers to the way the Ashtanga Yoga Method was taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in the city of Mysore, India. It is a monitored self-practice in a group setting. This dynamic gives each student the ability to work at their own level from beginner to advanced, while enjoying the inspiration of being part of a focused group energy. Each student is encouraged and supported by the teacher as they memorize the sequence and develop a personal rhythm and relationship to the practice. The student is taught progressively according to his or her individual needs. In this special class, you learn to take individual responsibility for your yoga practice. This established sequence is traditionally practiced every day, and this one week course will include six morning classes and three afternoon sessions that explore some off the mat practices and other limbs of Ashtanga Yoga. Mysore style is one of the best and safest ways to learn the more advanced asanas or postures, with proper skill and dedication.
